While Sanjay Leela Bhansali is never known to be a filmmaker in a hurry, he had planned his fastest ever film Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2019. He’d hoped a 2020 release date for the film. So, when COVID19 struck, the sets at Film City were not dismantled, and the team paid a lot of rent for the location. While Sanjay has already sold the film to Jayantilal Gada, he still possesses a budget to film the movie.

However, when it is time for the visualisation of the songs in the film, the director has been asked to take it easy, and not rush through it.

As per industry sources, there are four songs in the film, of which the first one was shot in 12 days. The second song, was completed in eight days. The other two songs will also be shot with around three hundred people in it. Apparently, Alia has requested time for rehearsing for those songs so that she can give her best. According to a source with the known-how on the matter, “Alia does not want to rush her dance sequences. She knows that she will be judged with a fisheye lens when she is doing her dance numbers and

will be compared to the best of talents, from Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai to Deepika Padukone, who have been the mercurial maker’s muses in his films. Bhansali is very impressed with Alia’s acting. Now, she wants to impress him with her dancing as well.”
