South Indian actress Sanjjanaa, who was arrested in the Sandalwood drug case in September 2020 and was granted bail after a couple of months, is slowly recovering from the setback. After being in the news for so many days, the actress is now focusing on work. While refusing to talk about what happened, she conveys staunch belief in the Indian judiciary system.

“Focusing on my family and my work is the only priority right now,” says Sanjjanaa speaking for the first time since she was granted bailed in the case. “It’s my family and my well-wishers’ prayers that have brought me out of trouble, and it will be only good times and greater success stories in life for me from now onwards,” she says with confidence. “Now I am extremely choosy about people I will associate with in my life because in difficulties and failures there are many who come to stone you but very few who come and pacify. So my life will be about just for my family, work and such people. I have no energy left for plastic people at all.”

Controversies apart, good things have also happened in Sanjjanaa’s life. For one, the actress who made her film debut in the 2006-Tamil flick Oru Kadhal Seiveer had got engaged sometime during the lockdown.

“I’m very proud to say I’m engaged and there is nothing I want to hide about my engagement, which happened during the lockdown, although I did not have a chance to celebrate or announce it. Now, after so much that I have gone through, my marriage will be a silent, charitable event to serve people in need,” adds the actress.

The actress has also turned to religion, having decided, in fact, to change hers. “I am a strong believer of karma and God. Now I have become very spiritual. I’d practiced reading Namaz all the time during my journey in these three months. It was my personal choice to get converted to Islam as I am very attracted to the way of life,” Sanjjanaa says, adding. “I request all not to politicise or criticise my spirituality.” While a part of her feels helpless about the thousands of rumours related to her, spread in her absence, the other part in her believes time will find a way to show the truth. “

I had no access to my phone to reply to rumours. But time will tell and give answers to everything. I am also planning to travel from May onwards and get back to my film shoots
