IncInk’s indigenous talent trail

Ranveer’s independent label manages four new talents including Spitfire, whom he calls a lyrical prodigy

The Bollywood actor made waves with his brilliant performance as a rapper from the streets of Mumbai in the hit 2019-film Gully Boy. However, Ranveer believes that the young hip/hop and rap artist, Spitfire, is “a large part of the reason everybody had tuned into Gully Boy”.

Nitin Mishra, or Spitfire, was dubbed as a prodigy for the incredible lyrics of Asli hip hop, which became a rage. He is now being managed by Ranveer’s independent record label, IncInk.

Ranveer, who says he has been blown over by Spitfire’s new EP titled Partein, which released today, adds, “Nitin is a lyrical prodigy. He is a large part of the reason everybody tuned into Gully Boy during its first promo when he wrote Asli hip hop. He is the one who wrote Murad’s part in all of the rap battles. When his matchless raw talent and pure passion revealed to me, it became a large part of the reason I even wanted to participate in the business in the first place.” Speaking further, Ranveer says, “This new EP features one of my favourite tracks so far, Zalzala. When I am in the gym, it gets me pumped up. When I hear Sangeet and Afterparty (other tracks from the EP), they transport me into an elevated spiritual space and put me in a deep, thoughtful, reflective frame of mind. This EP speaks of Nitin’s versatility, his fearlessness and his beautiful spirit. Partein is a demonstration of skill and maturity.” Ranveer has always maintained that he seeks to unearth the future superstars of the music scene in India and champion indigenous music that celebrates the culture, diversity and reality of our country. IncInk, his passion project, which he founded with Navzar Eranee, aims to provide a platform to raw talents — who have no connection in the music industry — to express their skills and to present their talent to global audiences.
