Nadda holds meet to review party’s Covid-19 relief work

BJP president J.P. Nadda on Saturday held meeting with the party’s national general secretarie­s and heads of various wings, including youth, SC, ST, women and farmers to review the Covid welfare and relief works undertaken under ‘Sewa hi Sangathan’ campaign by the party across the country to mark the seventh anniversar­y of the Narendra Modi government.

Feedback of various activities undertaken by the morchas was also discussed with the party leadership. After the meeting, Mr Nadda and national general secretary (organisati­on) B.L. Santhosh, it was learnt, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him about the the various initiative­s undertaken by the party leaders and workers. Mr Nadda will be meeting state incharges on Sunday. With Assembly polls lined up in six states — Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa and Punjab — next year, the party leadership is likely to seek feedback on state units’ preparedne­ss from state incharges of the election going states.

During the meeting with general secretarie­s and morcha heads, various organizati­onal related issues were also discussed. Morcha heads gave presentati­on on works undertaken by them, including for the ‘Sewa hi Sangathan’ campaign, under which the party workers were also asked to reach out to atleast one lakh jhuggi clusters across the country to help and assist people and families effected by the global pandemic. BJP central leadership also sought feedback on the various initiative­s taken by the Modi government, including for farmers, poors and MSME sectors.

Among those who attended the meeting at Mr Nadda’s residence included general secretarie­s Arun Singh, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Dilip Saikia, CT Ravi, D. Purendeshw­ari, Bhupendra Yadav, Kailash Vijayvargi­ya and Tarun Chugh and joint general secretary (organisati­on) Shivprakas­h.
