Saree-clad horse & Enfield-riding Odia woman a big YouTube hit
Monalisha Bhadra, a young housewife hailing from Bari area in Odisha’s Jajpur district, has now become a rage on YouTube. Crores of people are curiously watching the saree-clad woman getting engaged in daring activities that are often considered of male domains.
While in one of her video clips, 32-year-old Monalisa appears a complete rustic woman cooking food for family on traditional earth-oven, in another clip she is seen ploughing farmlands with a heavy tractor. In yet another clip, she is seen zooming past the villagers on a bullet motorcycle on a submerged road to reach a particular destination to feed stray animals.
In a few other video clips
that capture her adventurism, she is seen flawlessly driving a large Volvo bus in state capital Bhubaneswar and a large truck on the DaitaryParadip national highway.
What has attracted more followers to her is the motherly affection for monkeys.
The young lady, mother of two little children, now has 22.40 lakh subscribers and 76 crore views on YouTube. She earns nearly `1.50 lakh monthly from the digital platform.
Monalisha’s tryst with YouTube began when she
posted her first video featuring her love for monkeys. Her husband Badrinarayan had shot the entire scene. The video got a million views within hours, making her a YouTube sensation. Her next video showing her adventurously facing a cobra also got wide admiration and appreciation.
“I’m quite happy people all over the world have bestowed their love and affection on me by appreciating my work. I will continue to do good work for my fellow people and animals,” says Monalisha.
