Kejriwal wants to raise middlemen army for his own money share: BJP

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Hitting out at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi BJP on Sunday described Mr Kejriwal’s claim as total lie. If Kejriwal really wants to do something for the poor, he should implement onenation one-ration card yojna, said Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta.

Under the National Food Security Act and Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Yojna, the Centre is already giving free ration to 80 crore people in May and June and also 72 lakh card holders are being given this ration, Gupta said at a press conference.

Leader of opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said, over 70 lakh people applied for ration cards in the last seven years but have not got it yet. Kejriwal wants to raise middlemen army for his own money share, said MP Meenakshi Lekhi.

Mr Gupta said to hide his own failure, Kejriwal is coming up with such lies while the fact remains under PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojna in May and till June 5, Delhi had got more than its fixed quota, that’s it has got 72,782 Mt. Of this state government has so far lifted only 53000 Mt and of this, only 68 per cent has been distributed. He said on top of it, while Kejriwal gives only `2 subsidy on per kg wheat the Centre gives `23.73 while on rice Kejriwal gives only `3 per kg subsidy while center gives `33.79. He said if Kejriwal wants to distribute ration in addition to this, he can buy it on the notified rate and neither Centre nor anyone would object to that. But to describe Centre’s policies as his own is low level politics, he charged.
