- AGE CORRESPONDENTS RAIPUR, JULY 28

A day after Chhattisgarh health minister T.S. Singh Deo walked out of the Assembly demanding his government issue a clear statement in his context, the Opposition BJP on Wednesday attacked the Congress, saying that how can people of Chhattisgarh trust the government when its minister himself has no faith in the government.

A minister takes the oath of taking the collective responsibility and Singh Deo has violated the collective responsibility by expressing no confidence in the government. The MLA asked the government whether Singh Deo had resigned or his resignation had been taken.

He said that if not, then after the minister left the House, there would be no government anymore. And when there is no government then how will the discussion take place in the house?

Meanwhile, state home minister Tamradhwaj Sahu gave a clean chit to his Cabinet colleague Deo in the Saturday’s attack on the convoy of ruling Congress MLA Brihaspati Singh at Ambikapur in the state, ending the impasse in the Assembly.

Making a statement in the House, Mr Sahu said the allegations leveled against state health minister T S Singh Deo by the lawmaker that he conspired to eliminate him was “false and baseless”.

“Mr Deo had no role in the incident,” he said.

Mr Sahu’s statement came after the legislator expressed regret over his allegation against the health minister, describing it a mere emotional outburst.
