DCW rescues 3 minor girls from human trafficker­s in Narela area

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has rescued three minor girls from human traffickin­g in Narela area.

One of the three girls, Reshma (name changed) called on the helpline number (181) and informed that one lady named Halima, who is involved in the business of drugs, forced her into flesh trade on the pretext of providing a job, mentioned a released issued by the DCW.

The victim alleged that one day Halima took her in a forest area and forced her to make relations with some boys. When she refused, she threatened to kill her. Reshma also alleged that Halima takes advantage of girls coming from poor background.

Upon receiving the call, DCW team immediatel­y took action and started its proceeding­s with the help of concerned ACP of Delhi Police. The girls informed that one of them was 15year-old while the other two were 14-years-old. DCW team along with the help of ACP conducted a visit to the address provided by the victims, but the accused had escaped before the team reached there.

The police have registered a case under section 6 of POCSO Act and several other sections of IPC. The commission produced the girls before the Child Welfare Committee after which CWC ordered them to keep them in a shelter home.

DCW chief Swati Maliwal has issued notice to police and has asked them to arrest the accused. “Our team took swift action in the matter and rescued three minor girls. The police have registered an FIR in the matter, I hope that the accused will be arrested soon,” said Maliwal.
