The actress who left her shoot midway upon hearing about Sidharth’s death, hasn’t spoken to anyone since
As Shehnaaz Kaur Gill’s brother Shehbaaz ushered her into the Oshiwara Crematorium in suburban Mumbai, amidst the media circus waiting to cover Sidharth Shukla’s funeral and to take note of the number of celebrities there, the actress broke down.
Sidharth Shukla died of a heart attack on 02 September, sending shock waves in the film and television industries.
Shehnaaz, who was Sidharth’s closest friend and was rumored to be his girlfriend since their stint in Bigg Boss 13, had apparently left her shoot midway when she heard about Sidharth’s demise. She has not spoken to anyone since then.
“She has been to herself and we have also not decided to disturb her,” says her friend Himanshi.
“When I saw her yesterday, she was so pale and in shock,” adds Rahul Mahajan.
Anu Malik’s brother, Abu Malik, another Bigg Boss contestant, said Shehnaaz was very keen to get married to Sidharth, stating that she even told Abu about it once during the lockdown last year.
A LOVE LOST
Sidharth and Shehnaaz had been close and often
expressed their bond as “friendship” and nothing beyond that. However, one may recall an incident around Sidharth from Bigg Boss 14. When actress Gauahar Khan seemed to be trying to get close to him, Sidharth, who’d entered the house, is said to have said that he already has a girlfriend at home. To that, Gauahar had replied, “Good for you. I am happy for you”
Fans of SidNaaz, the fan group that has been actively promoting the relationship between the two, even began trending the line “I have a girlfriend at home” on Twitter soon after.
When asked for her reaction to the above, Shehnaaz simply replied that she was watching the next season of Bigg Boss only for the days when Sidharth had entered it. Incidentally, both Sidharth and Shehnaaz rang in their new year in 2021 in Goa where they were apparently also shooting a music video.
Besides working on music videos together and being seen attending each other’s birthday parties and other celebrations, the duo recently appeared on the TV show Dance Deewane 3.
