Kriti Garg, who has won acclaim for her performance in Rahu, says her role in her next film will be another performance-oriented one. The yet-to-be titled movie starring Vikas Vasishta is being directed by Vijay.

Talking about the recently launched film, Kriti, who already commenced shooting for her part, says that she loves her character design, and that the script is engaging.

“I play a middle-class girl in her 20s, who moves from the village to the city, and wants to get married. But life throws a challenge and things go haywire,” explains Kriti. The actress says every film has been a new experience, and that’s the beauty of the profession.

“We always have new experiences to look forward to,” she adds. Kriti, who had always dreamt of acting, says she has now realised how challenging filmmaking is.

“I can sense what roles work for me, and have a better understanding of the craft and the effort that goes into filmmaking,” she shares. “I fell in love with the camera,” says Kriti. “In the last three years I have heard some interesting scripts which push me to give my best.”

The actress, who is getting to play author-backed roles, says “New-age filmmakers are bursting on to the scene with unique and innovative roles, and such characters motivate us to push the envelope. Moreover, today, audiences are exposed to world cinema, so the quirkier the content and the character, the better the film is.”

“It’s the story and the narration that sells,” she points out, and adds that she’s happy to be part of this transitional phase of cinema.

The Jaipur-born actress says she’s slowly coming to grips with the Telugu language. “Initially, I was nervous, but it’s getting easier with each film. I can now understand Telugu,” says Kriti, who took the modelling route to movies.
