The guide to relationships
The book discusses the red flags that should be raised, and the ultimate goal of finding oneself
Love, Lust and Lemons —Your go-to guide for relationships, dating, and everything in between is one to keep on your bedside table. Its 53 chapters provide answers to any question you may have on men, dating, and relationships.
“It gives clarity and takes the reader across the minefield of relationships with humour and empathy,” says author Shahzeen Shivdasani, Relationship Expert.
The book is a compilation of all Shahzeen’s thoughts and written texts over the years. “I initially started writing about relationships in college, where I would share my work with a group of close girlfriends who were all on the same path as me — desperately trying to find love at a time when what we needed most was to find ourselves. It was almost like a column, and funnily enough, I named it ‘Love, lust, and lemons’, she says.
“After years of running my own blog and writing popular articles for various publications, I decided to write this book as it was always a dream of mine. It had to be named after the column that started it all,” she explains.
“The main purpose was to remind women that through the ups and downs of finding the perfect partner, the most important life lesson you will learn is that it all helps you find yourself. And that is actually what’s most important,” Shahzeen shares.
Examining every situation faced by women in today’s dating world, this book serves as a reminder that we have all been down this road and celebrates the journey of relationships and self-discovery.
“One of my favourite chapters and one of my most popular ones is the one titled ‘Types of men you shouldn’t date’. I love this chapter because it breaks down five different types of men most of us women have dated and / or come across. It covers men that are commitment-phobic, self-absorbed, arrogant, womanisers or have addiction issues. I find it witty, relatable and also feel it makes a point on what we should be looking for when it comes to dating, and the red flags that we shouldn't overlook,” adds Shahzeen.
