HERALDING NEW HOPES

The New Year is a new beginning with much to look forward to, Maanya Kohli reminds us

-

W—Mehmet Murat ildan, contemporary Turkish playwright, novelist and thinker e just bid adieu to 2021, ready to embrace 2022. Though this year began on a somewhat sour note, with a steep rise in COVID cases and the PM’s convoy being halted in Punjab, I assure you that 2022 is a much better year than 2020 and 2021, especially after April. Whether the year that just went by was good, bad or ugly for you, if you look deep within yourself, you know you’re not the person you were at the beginning of 2021, just as you’ll not be the person you’re now by the end of this year.

A new beginning is found in the end; the pieces are in place for a new journey to begin, and after that one is completed, another will surely start.

In Tarot, “The World” card represents new beginnings. It marks a time in life when one cycle is over and the next is about to commence. It represents the final attainment of all worldly expectations and yearnings, and the imminent approach of new wishes and new goals to chase. “The World” inadvertently remains the fundamental goal because it’s an affirmation of LIFE and the advent of a perfect state of wholeness and bliss.

However, comprehending the paradox of endings and beginnings is not easy for everyone. Many times, you may take a wrong turn believing it to be the right path. But in actuality, there’s never a wrong turn because each turn, each winding road, teaches you an important life lesson if you’re open and willing to learn. Eventually, it shall help you find the answers that you seek.

My dear readers, all I wish for you this year is to have faith. If things have not gone well for you, remember that sometimes it’s better to not wrestle with closed doors. Clinging to it may blind you to the window on the adjacent wall. Just do your best to make this year stand out so that at the end of the year you feel happy and satisfied that you tried to live your best life.

“New Year’s most glorious light is sweet hope!”

P.S.: COVID would also end with this year’s end.
