In his upcoming film Jayeshbhau Jordaar, Ranveer Singh is seen celebrating the girl child, and plays a sharp-witted Gujarati man who stands up for his unborn baby girl and takes on his family.

The actor reveals that his father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, was his inspiration to pull off this character.

His father was a pillar of strength to Ranveer and his entire family during several trying times. The Gully Boy star channelised his father's calm and protective personality to become Jayeshbhai on screen. In fact,

Jagjit was very instrumental in shaping Ranveer's life and career.

Says Ranveer, “I imbibed lot of traits merely by observing the way my father was with us as a family. From the time he woke up till the time he slept, his only purpose was to give us a better life and we were like the only thing that mattered to him."

The actor describes his father as the best protector of the family. “He always gave his best for the family no matter how much it took from him — physically, mentally, emotionally — he would pour everything in the endeavor of giving us a better life which is the premise of Jayeshbhai’s journey as well,” he reminds us.

Just like how Jayeshbhai is trying to protect his family, Ranveer says that he has seen his father go through many adversities relentlessly to overcome obstacles and give the family a better life. “By playing Jayeshbhai I now have a much deeper appreciation for everything that my father did for me. In retrospect when I think back, having become a man myself now, I can understand at a deeper level how difficult it must have been and how demanding it must have been for my father,” he reflects.
