Actress accuses MP hubby of ‘assassinating her character’
ACCUSING the lawmaker of mentally torturing her, Varsha mentioned in her complaint that the former uploaded some indecent videos on social media while the matter is sub-judice
Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini has filed a police complaint against her husband—actorturned-politician Anubhav Mohanty—and his family members at Purighat police station in Cuttack alleging that the latter were indulging in her character assassination by posting “objectionable” video clips on social media platforms.
Mr Mohanty is a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Lok Sabha member from Odisha’s Kendrapara constituency.
Accusing the lawmaker of mentally torturing her, Varsha mentioned in her complaint that the former uploaded some indecent videos on social media while the matter is subjudice.
Mr Mohanty had released two videos on May 19 and 21 in which he had held his wife responsible for the marital dispute. While in the first video he had not taken Varsha’s name, in the second video he mentioned his wife’s name.
In the second video clip, the actor-turned-politician observed that his decision to marry Varsha was a “great mistake.”
Holding her responsible for the marital dispute between them, Mr Mohanty accused her of denying him for years the conjugal rights he deserves.
“I was the first one to file a petition for divorce. My only reason for filing the divorce as cited in the petition was non-consummation of marriage. Even after eight years of marriage, my life partner didn’t give me the rights that I deserve as a husband,” said Mr Mohanty.
In the videos, the actor is seen requesting the actress to vacate his house and in turn he promised her a two/three-bedroom flat.
Meanwhile, seeing Mr Mohanty in trouble, exMP Siddhant Mohapatra and actor Sabyasachi Mishra came forward to advise the actor in their own way.
Mr Mishra said, “As a friend, it (the ongoing discord) hurts me to the core. Like me, all their fans and followers are feeling the pain. I pray to God to reunite them and give them success in the film industry that they are known for.”
Notably, while a case filed by Mr Mohanty is sub-judice at the Cuttack family court, another case of domestic violence filed by Varsha against him is sub-judice at a SDJM court in Cuttack.
