Woman, brother found dead in flat; hubby held

- BHASKAR HARI SHARMA NEW DELHI, APRIL 17

A 30-year-old woman was found murdered along with her brother at her inlaws house in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Wednesday, an official said.

The bodies of the siblings were discovered by the deceased woman’s father-in-law on Wednesday morning lying on the floor of a room in his house at street no 3, Shakarpur, as the 2-yearold son of the dead woman was weeping on the bed.

Sharing details of the horrific double murder, deputy commissioner of police (east) Apoorva Gupta said a PCR call was received at the Shakarpur police station at 10.11 am in which the caller stated that there has been a fight and someone is injured.

The police immediately reached the spot and found out that two people, both siblings, have been killed. They were identifeid as Kamlesh Holkar (29), a teacher at a school in Ghaziabad, and her brother Ram Pratap Singh (18), a Class 12th student. Both were found in a pool of blood on the second floor of a residential building.

The DCP said that Ram Pratap arrived in Delhi

from his native place in Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the birthday of his sister’s two-year-old son.

“Prima facie it is suspected that Holkar and her husband, Shreyansh Kumar Pal, got into an argument on Tuesday night following which he fatally stabbed his wife and her brother,” the officer said.

The alleged husband Shreyansh was missing in the morning but later joined the probe and was arrested. “He is being interrogated,” the officer said.

The officer further

informed that allegedly Shreyansh is an engineer but was currently unemployed. His father retired from the Indian Air Force and his mother works in Delhi’s power department. Pal’s younger brother lives on the first floor of the same building with his wife and children, the officer said.

Meanwhile, the senior officer also said that there were a lot of contradictions in the narration given by the family members and it is suspected that the crime scene may have been tampered as well.
