McDonald’s enters Andhra market

Mumbai, June 13: McDonald’s India has announced its entry in Andhra Pradesh with the launch of its first restaurant in the state. Westlife Developmen­t Limited owner of the Master Franchisee of McDonald’s restaurant­s in west and south India through its subsidiary Hardcastle Restaurant­s Private (HRPL) infor med BSE.

“We are excited to introduce the Golden Arches with our first restaurant in Nellore. At McDonald’s we endeavor to delight our customers with a variety of range wholesome offerings in lunch and dinner. Our efficient model of supply chain sources 98% of ingredient­s locally. Quality, service, cleanlines­s and value form the unique value propositio­n which reflects in our food and hospitalit­y,” said Gerald Dias, director, McDonald’s India- business operations, south.

Westlife Developmen­t focuses on putting up and operating Quick Service Restaurant­s (QSR) in India through its subsidiary Hardcastle Restaurant­s (HRPL) which is a McDonald’s franchisee with rights to own and operate McDonald’s restaurant­s in India’s west and south markets since 1996.

HRPL serves over 185 million customers, annually, at its 236 (as of March 31, 2016) McDonald’s restaurant­s across 30 cities in the states of Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtr­a, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisga­rh, Andhra Pradesh and parts of Madhya Pradesh, and provides direct employment to over 7,500 employees.
