Pakistan exists in a state of denial
It is not surprising that the ex-ISI chief, Hamid Gul, has denied he was Tunda's handler (August 20) as revealed by the arrested bomb expert. Has anyone in Pakistan ever accepted anything that has actually happened? They are still denying that the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai were planned and executed by their own people even though a mass of evidence has come from Ajmal Kasab and Abu Jundal, besides others. Be that as it may, what is now needed is to confront our hostile neighbour with the fresh can of worms opened up by him, put an end to all relations, diplomatic and otherwise, and chalk out our own plan of action in consultation with our service chiefs. Being goody-goody for too long has not helped us one bit.
