CM presents development works worth Rs 900 crores to public
Chief minister Raman Singh inaugurated the construction works worth Rs 900 crore in Vikas Yatra which began from Aarang. The CM then inaugurated various construction works at Navapura, Abhanpur, Mana, Boriyakala and Mana Camp. The procession taken out under the Yatra reached Mana Camp at late in the night on Tuesday where the CM laid foundation stone of construction works worth Rs 15 crores. Despite being so late in night, Singh was accorded warm welcome by large numbers of people present there. Shikshakarmis, government, employees, Kotwars and many other working class people expressed their gratitude to the CM for his employee-friendly policies. Singh was even weighed in laddus by the people. Thousands of farmers were also present on the occasion who entertained the CM with traditional dancing and other performances. The CM addressed the gathering of thousands of citizens present on the occasion throwing light on various welfare schemes implemented by the state government. Singh said in his address to the gathering the rising inflation and soaring prices of even common food items is the sign of failed economic policies of the union government. The CM also joked about onions being so expensive the sisters would ask it as a gift from their brothers on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. The CM further said the state was the first to introduce act for the security of food for the poor who are being supplied 35kg rice and 2kg salt each month along with other essential food items. The CM laid foundation stone of 36 new construction works worth Rs 232 crores and along with the inauguration of 58 development works worth about Rs 662 crores. Singh also inaugurated the first organic fertilizer factory at Abhanpur constructed by Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation at the cost of Rs 2 crore. The CM also inaugurated many housing colonies including a huge residential colony in Boriyakala having 3301 houses at the cost of Rs 275 crores.
