adras Café’ which nears its release is produced by John Abraham and directed by Shoojit Sircar. It is a political thriller and in John’s opinion, who is also the lead in the film, the movie is a must watch for everyone and especially youngsters. It brings awareness about the political situation in India during the time of Sri Lankan civil war and the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.

“I just feel that there are good films, there are bad films and then there is ‘Madras Cafe’. It’s a different film and I don’t know how good or bad is it but I feel that everyone should watch the film because then they will know what happened in India at that time. And what changed the political history,” says John and further adds, “I think we have addressed that issue in the most entertaining and commercial way. So it’s a must watch. Especially our youngsters need different kinds of films. Even the seniors would really like the film. I can vouch for it and the youngsters need to know what happened in India. I guess they still don’t know a lot of things because most of the times all that we hear and see is not always the only truth.”

As we know JA Production post ‘Vicky Donor’ has set the bar high and when asked post ‘Madras Cafe’, are there more movies lined up? And John replies, “I have so many films but I am planning something interesting with Shoojit post Durga Pooja next year.”

Between production and acting, the heartthrob who is known for his obsession with bikes makes sure to indulge in his passion and says, “I only need to ride a motorcycle. I like motorcycles. I just need time for that!”

We wonder after donning different hats, if direction is on the mind of the actor and he reveals, “Yes, I would like to direct but for direction you need to get an idea. At present, I have nothing in my mind but I would really like to direct one day. Maybe I would start with ad films because I produce ad films as well.”

Starring John and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles ‘Madras Cafe’ is slated for its release on August 23, 2013 but the question is that if the movie will be able to withstand the fury of the record breaking ‘Chennai Express’ and the recently released Balaji Production’s, ‘Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara’?
