Builder blames TMC councillors, two civic officers in suicide note

The Thane police on Thursday claimed that they received a suicide note from the vehicle of MCHI Thane president Suraj Parmar who committed suicide on Wednesday. He had shot himself with his personal .32 calibre pistol at one of his upcoming project sites in Kasarvadavali.

In the 12-page suicide note, Parmar reportedly blamed six councillors and two civic officers of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) for forcing him to take the drastic step and ending his life.

He also mentioned minute details about how he had fallen into a bottomless pit of loans and how his projects were behind schedule because the TMC officials were sitting on his files and delaying the approvals.

According to police, he had mentioned names of politicians and civic officials.

In the note, he also claimed that he had given Rs crores to politicians and civic officials and still they made his life difficult. His project was denied permission, even though it was legal and he had completed all the official formalities. He feared in the note that he might get a heart attack or paralysis due to psychological pressure of incompletion of project. Instead of getting paralysis, he said that he would prefer to commit suicide.

"We are reading the suicide note, which is very detailed and claims that many of his projects were stuck. This resulted in mounting financial liabilities," said police officials.
