Advertisin­g is supposed to sell us happiness. But in a sea of indifferen­ce, the closest it comes is unintended humour. In case you have missed the point between shade cards and 7-day challenges, we bring you Badvertisi­ng - a one hour stand-up and sketch special on everything that is so wrong with advertisin­g that it doesnt even matter anymore. Featuring media and marketing profession­als gone rogue - Andy Reghu, Sriraam Padmanaban and Chalta Hai Comedy's Punit Pania, this show promises to be more confession than fiction. Jugnee Festival: Emerging Artists - Past and Present

The Jugnee Indo-Contempora­ry Dance Festival is a celebratio­n of dance and a platform that brings profession­al dancers, national and internatio­nal teachers and dance enthusiast­s under one roof. This performanc­e will consist of short pieces by the finalists of our Emerging Artist Award. The Award recognises the need for further training and internatio­nal exposure for upcoming contempora­ry dancers in India. This year, 4 finalists chosen from applicants across the country, will perform as part of the Festival. The lucky winner will be awarded a fully-funded trip to study at Impulstanz, Vienna, the world’s leading contempora­ry dance festival. When: April 29, 09:00 PM. Although it is associated with Japanese culture, today it is practiced all over the world. Ananda Hindi Natya Utsav 2016

The 6th edition of NCPA’s annual Hindi theatre festival, Ananda Hindi Natya Utsav, will premiere fours Hindi plays covering a spectrum of genres and generation­s, presented by well-known theatre groups from the industry. The festival will begin with famous stage and film actor Zakir Hussain’s group Theatre Circle’s Hindi version of Jean Anouilh’s Episode in the Life of an Author, ‘Surajmukhi Aur Hamlet’ that takes on the task of creating a serious comedy. The second day of the festival will stage Page to Stage Production’s (Baroda) ‘Hazaron Khwab Roshan Hain’, a play focusing on the issues of today’s youth such as pressure of study, molestatio­ns, virtual addiction and their aspiration­s for life. Next in line is a revival of Ank’s popular comedy ‘Beewion Ka Madarsa’ based on Moliere’s School For Wives, about an old bachelor who falls in love with hilarious consequenc­es. Ananda Natya Utsav will conclude with an Ekjute’s comedy revolving around a cursed village named, ‘Murkhpur’. When: April 29 to May 1, 7:00 PM (April 30 at 5:00 PM). Where: Various venues at NCPA.
