9 killed in Pune collapse

MUMBAI:: In a tragic event at Balewadi in Pune, nine labourers were killed after the slab collapsed of an under-constructi­on building on Friday.The incident occurred early on Friday at 10.30 am. Eight were killed on the spot, while the ninth died during treatment and two others suffered minor injuries and were undergoing treatment at the city’s Sassoon Hospital. The team of thirteen laborers were working on the 13th floor of the under constructi­on building which was part of a housing complex known as Park Express, a project by the Pride Purple Group.The names of the deceased are Vasant Saha, Munna Paswan, Bipin Thakur, Lakhan Saha, Karan Saha, Varun Saha, Vijay Paswan and Tupan Saha. Santosh Chavhan, Bhavin Saha, Rajesh Pasvan, Dharmvir Thakur, Babulal Roy, and Paras Thakur are injured and are still recuperati­ng at the Sassoon Hospital.
