Prabhu sanctions phase 2 of Sawantwadi terminus
Mumbai: The Phase-2 of Sawantwadi Terminus was sanctioned by the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday.
Deepak Kesarkar, Guardian Minister of Sawantwadi and Member of Parliament Vinayak Raut were also present during the event. The Phase-I of Sawantwadi Terminus was constructed at a cost of 11.42 crores.
In order to increase the facilities at Sawantwadi Terminus, the Railway Minister also sanctioned the work of Phase-II at a cost of 8.15 crores. The Phase-II would comprise of various facilities like terminus building with ticketing window, waiting hall, circulating area on Sawantwadi town side, drive-in facility along the new platform and train watering arrangement also.
The terminus would also help in boosting tourism in Sawantwadi since Sindhudurg district was also declared as Tourist District by the State Government of Maharashtra.
