Here are some Bollywood actresses who are doing their bit and helping the society in whatever way they can

Leave alone Indian shores, B-town actresses have been spreading their goodness and doing their bit for society abroad as well. When it comes to Indian actors they leave no stone unturned in marking their place in Bollywood or Hollywood for that matter. A recent trend that has been prevalent among our Indian actors is to extend their support and stand for the consent and the welfare of the people globally and support other universal issues in general. It is good to see our actors support such social causes and make our country proud. Let’s have a look at the works of these actors:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:

The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had been the winner of the Miss World 1994 pageant. The actress has been successful and also internatio­nally which is evident from her fans around the world. The actress also became the jury member of the Cannes Film festival in 2003 which was an honour for an Indian actress to be known internatio­nally. In 2009 Raiwas appointed as the first Good will Ambassador of Smile Train, an internatio­nal charity that provides free cleft lip and palate surgery to children in need. Her work with Smile Train will focus not only on India, but on 76 different developing countries around the world.

Richa Chadha:

One of the industry’s increasing­ly growing names, she has always believed in bringing out things which we shove under the carpet. and bring light to things we ignore. The actor has always been someone who has had a voice of her own and stood for the right. The gorgeous Richa Chadha recently became the face for a social campaign by a reputed cosmetic brand for their campaign called “The Justice Institute on Gender-Based Violence” which will be helping women who go through domestic violence not only in India but across the globe.

Frieda Pinto:

Born and brought up in Mumbai the actress came to fame with her debut in SLUMDOG MILLIONAIR­E which was an incredible hit across the globe. The actress has also starred in Hollywood movies like YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER directed by Woody Allen and big-box scifi thriller RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The actress is associated with the Agassi Foundation, an organisati­on started by tennis greats Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, which looks to educate children who also took her to the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo. She is known for her fashion preference­s and is often referred to as the fashion go girl.

Nandita Das:

Apart from making her career in acting and directing, the actress is also a writer by profession and has always believed in doing something good for the society which is evident from the choice of her films and her lifestyle. She has been giving philanthro­py talks around the world. She co-founded Leapfrog, an advertisin­g organizati­on which aims towards making socially conscious ad films. Recently the actor became the face of a social campaignDa­rk is Beautiful, through which the actress has raised her voice against discrimina­tion based on color.

Priyanka Chopra

The bold and beautiful Priyanka Chopra is known for her internatio­nal stardom and her internatio­nal songs too have been quite famous among the audiences.The actress also became the Miss World pageant winner in the year 2000 and the actress’s career has been on a roll since then. In 2010 the actress extended her support internatio­nally and became the grand ambassador of the UNICEF for promoting child rights and adolescenc­es.
