End threats, proceed legally
Reacting to strong indication from the Indian side about abrogating the 56 year-old Indus water treaty, a senior Pak diplomat has threatened to start another round of armed hostilities with India. They may take a legal route by approaching the UNO and the International Court of Appeals. Pak, in that case, may even seek a stay on India’s action of unilaterally terminating the 1960 agreement. The matter may hang for decades, like the complaint lodged by India against Pak's occupation of one third of J&K, pending before the world body for the last 70 years.
