Second CBI chargesheet nails Peter and Indrani
Agency claims that Peter was kept in the loop by Indrani on selection of spot for disposal of Sheena Bora’s body
It seems that Peter Mukherjea’s cup of woes is full to the brim as the CBI’s second supplementary charge sheet in the high-profile murder mystery of Sheena Bora, nails the former media baron.
On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its second supplementary chargesheet before a special court stating that the additional evidence collected during the further probe are ‘substantiating’ the charges of conspiracy leading to abduction and murder of Sheena Bora and the roles played by each accused persons in the planning and commission of the crime.
The agency has claimed that the main accused Indrani kept her third husband, Peter Mukherjea, informed about the place/location for the disposal of the dead body of 23-year-old Sheena, who was allegedly strangulated to death in April 2012.
The chargesheet states, “Further investigation has revealed that Indrani kept Peter informed on phone about the selection of place for disposal of dead body of Sheena during the period of recce and selection of spot on April 23.”
In a bid to puncture holes in Peter’s claims, the chargesheet states, “Indrani’s manager Kajal Sharma did not talk to Peter on phone pretending to be Sheena as Peter was familiar with her voice as she was their only employee and he frequently talked to her for official as well as personal works.”
It must be noted that Peter, has since his arrest maintained that his wife Indrani made her employee Kajal Sharma to pretend as Sheena and speak on phone with him (after the murder) so that he may not doubt the sudden disappearance of Sheena.
The central agency has claimed that both Peter and Indrani were against the ‘intimate relationship’ between Sheena and Rahul Mukherjea and also that Peter often engaged in a quarrel with his son (Rahul) over his relationship with Sheena.
As far as Indrani is concerned, the second supplementary
chargesheet states that she used her son Mikhail to separate both Indrani and Rahul.
“Indrani used Mikhail to separate Sheena and Rahul. She asked him to send SMS to Sheena in order to force her to break up with Rahul but she did not comply,” the chargesheet reads.
Pointing at the property angle, the chargeseet states, “One such SMS from Indrani was forwarded by Mikhail to Sheena in March, 2012 threatening her that she would be ‘disinherited from the property’ if she did not severe her relationship with Rahul.” The chargesheet also mentioned that the ‘Wills’ in favour of both Sheena and Indrani’s second daughter Vidhie (from Sanjeev Khanna) were notarized. Nailing the Mukherjea couple, the agency has in its chargesheet said, “It is disclosed that Peter and Indrani also dissuaded Vidhie from having any contact with Rahul and Sheena.” To support its case, the agency has quoted some emails sent by Vidhie on instructions of her parents (Peter and Indrani) to Rahul and Sheena (after her murder), asking them to stay away from her. The agency has also quoted a few emails shared between Peter and Rahul, wherein the former is shown as making the latter understand that Sheena was not the person for him and another email which shows Rahul slamming his father. According to CBI, Peter sent several emails to his son Rahul to discourage him to pursue the matter pertaining to the disappearance of Sheena. While speaking to the Free Press Journal, Peter’s counsel Mihir Gheewala, said, “As of now, there is no statement against my client from Mikhail and as far as the statements of the driver are concerned, I wonder why these statements were not given before rather in his earlier statements he hardly said anything incriminating my client and now suddenly he recalled everything it seems.”
