Mumbai police arrest man for threatening Sena leader Gorhe
The Vile Parle police arrested a Right to Information Activist(RTI) Dipakkumar Pyarelal (40) for threatening Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Legislative Council Nilam Gorhe. Pyarelal was arrested from his native place at Jalgoan.
Gorhe received threats of rape and murder on February 21. She forwarded that message to Mumbai police who in turn suggested her to block that particular number.
But on February 27, she again received the same obscene threat of rape and murder from another number on her personal mobile. Then she registered complaint with Pune police.
Mahadev Nimbalkar, Senior Police Inspector (crime), Vileparle police station said, “We arrested Pyarelal from Jalgoan on Wednesday for sending obscene messages to Gorhe. Pyarelal had sent obscene messages to Member of Legislative Assembly Vidya Chavan as well.”
“On February 21, Pyarelal sent obscene text messages to MLA Vidya Chavan that he would rape and murder her.”
“During interrogation he intially denied that he had sent such messages to anybody. We tracked his mobile number and the IMEI number from which both Gorhe and Chavan had both received the threats and obscene messages,” said Nimbalkar.
The police have invoked 509 for insulting modesty of woman, 507 for criminal intimidation, 201 for causing disappearing evidence of offence of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 67 (A) of the Information Technolgy Act.
Nitin Bhosale Patil, Senior police inspector, Pune said, “We are still interrogating Pyarelal. We are awaiting for getting custody of him to investigate why he sent text messages to Gorhe. It seems he has psychological problems. He called a couple of MLAs and threatened them of murder and rape.”
Pyarelal was produced before a Magistrate court on Wednesday.
