One held for killing brother in Dharavi

The Dharavi police have arrested one person for the murder of a man who was shot dead near Milan Hotel at Sangam gully on Mahatma Gandhi road, Dharavi on Tuesday.

The accused Sanaul Haque Jawad Hussain (27) was arrested by the police on Tuesday. He is the brother of the victim Jiyaul Haque Jawed Hussain (32). Jiyaul Haque is a resident of Om Sai chawl at Rajiv Gandhi nagar chawl at Dharavi. The firing took place on Monday afternoon.

According to Suryakant Bangar, Senior Police Inspector, Dharavi police station, “In the absence of eyewitness­es and CCTV footage, two teams were formed to ascertain the identity of the victim .The accused Sanaul Haque was nabbed while he was boarding a bus for Jawahar at Motihari district in Bihar. The brothers had a fight over money dispute. In a fit of rage, Sanaul Haque fired two rounds at Jiyaul Haque from his pistol. The revolver used for the crime was a licensed one.”

“In the absence of eye-witnesses and CCTV footage, our team gathered informatio­n through locals to establish the identity of the victim. The two brothers used to fight often over monetary disputes. Sanaul Haque has confessed to the crime, “added Bangar.

The police had gathered informatio­n from Jiyaul Haque’s relatives and friends who informed them of an enmity between the two brothers.

Two live cartridges were found near Jiyaul Haque’s body .The bullet had pierced his right forehead above the right eye. The victim was rushed to Lokmanya Tilak hospital at Sion where he was declared dead on admission at the hospital on Monday afternoon. Sanaul Haque has been arrested for murder under the Indian Penal Code.
