Mufti seeks State help to promote J-K tourism
With a view to promote the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sought the help and support of the people of Maharashtra in a media interaction on Friday.
Mufti requested the media to promote the beauty of India's renowned tourist place Jammu and Kashmir so that the image of the state as a safe and secure place is cemented in the minds of the people.
The state is known for its constant gunbattle and turmoil and is thus considered as a place unsafe for tourism. Mufti said, "Maharashtra has played a crucial role to help shape the image of J&K. My father believed in the people of Maharashtra and always wanted to make our state as beautiful as heaven. I want to continue what my father did and therefore request the people of Maharashtra to help and promote tourism of J&K."
Mufti accepted the disturbance going on in J&K but boasted about the safe and secure environment. "Any event of disturbance that occurs at J&K is considered as a big thing but J&K is a safe and secure place. The clashes between India and Pakistan are on but ups and down have become a part of our lives. We wish to stress on infrastructure and filmmaking at J&K so that we can cater to more tourists and also help those who are attracted to our state for filmmaking," Mufti added.
The tourism department of J&K considered Maharashtra as their best friend in difficult times. Farooq Shah, Secretary of J&K Tourism and Floriculture said, "Maharashtra has been our best friend in difficult times. The state of Maharashtra has always stood by us to promote our travel and trade."
Mufti appealed to the people to pay their tribute to the martyrs by visiting J&K.
"We always witness soldiers dying in J&K and feel emotional about it. But the only way the people of Maharashtra can pay tribute to these martys is by visiting the state once," Mufti added.
