L&T wins `29-billion order for residential project in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro Ltd on Tuesday said its arm L&T Construction has got a Rs 29.03-billion order from Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority to re-develop BDD Chawls in Mumbai and build 20 residential towers, four high-rise towers, and one commercial development on a 6.5 ha land. The project includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, onsite and off-site infrastructure, landscaping, demolition of existing structures, and logistics involved in rehabilitation of the current residents, the company said in an exchange filing.
