2 held with banned notes of Rs 42 lakh in Guj

SURAT: Police on Tuesday seized demonetised currency notes having face value of Rs 42 lakh and detained two persons travelling in a Maharashtra state transport bus which was on its way from Nasik to Ahmedabad. "The police had received a tip-off that liquor was being illegally transported in a bus and as such were checking buses on the Udhna main road," said an official from Udhna police station. During the checking in the early hours, police found a bag full of demonetised currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.
