- STAFF REPORTER

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was questioned on Monday about the swimming pools at Andheri and Mulund. Municipal corporators raised this issue in the general body meeting claiming that as summer has arrived, BMC should repair these swimming pools and throw them open for the public soon.

The swimming pool at Andheri Sports Complex is lying non-functional for more than a month while the one at Mulund has always had problems.

Prakash Gangadhare, a senior corporator, said, “The swimming pool has many problems and the sports complex is being used for commercial purposes.

“The water is not clean and the structures are broken due to which the swimming pool is shut for days. ”

Other corporators also said the BMC swimming pools at Chembur, Ghatkopar and Kandivali have also not been functioning well. The administration of the civic body assured that they would start these pools soon as the vacations for students will start in the coming days.
