Students propose innovative ideas and solutions to transform state
WELCOME Event inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis witnessed solutions proposed by the pupils to tackle issues in various sectors like education, agriculture, environment and technology
Over 6,000 students from colleges and institutes across Maharashtra exhibited innovative ideas and development projects at the Transform Maharashtra event on Monday at the National Sports Council of India (NSCI) at Worli.
The event inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis witnessed solutions proposed by the students to tackle issues in various sectors like education, agriculture, environment and technology.
The students from colleges across the city exhibited their project models to develop various systems. Students from Usha Mittal Institute of Technology at Santacruz exhibited a spy robot model which can help tackle forest and industrial fire.
Rachna Shah, a student, said, “The robot model can detect and also help extinguish forest fires as Maharashtra has been continuously witnessing sudden forest fires.”
The method to use water to generate electricity can be improvised. Students of Pravin Patil Polytechnic College at Bhayander used a technique to block the flow of water and generate electricity using turbines. While, students of Mahavir Education Trust at Chembur devised a mobile application to connect the citizens to nearby hospitals and helpline centres in case of any emergency by just a click.
The exhibitions were not restricted to just colleges but students of Sharda Mandir High School at Gamdevi displayed the use of electrical tools for agriculture. A student said, “Farmers could make use of cost effective electrical equipment to avoid intrusions in their farms, provide adequate amount of water for irrigation and channelise solar power.”
Fadnavis highlighted 11 major issues targeting all the sectors which require immediate action and implementation of innovative ideas for transformation. Fadnavis said, “This event is just the beginning and we have the ability to provide human resources to the entire world. We will form a team of ministers, secretaries and representatives from this event to implement the solutions proposed to bring about transformation.”
Students who came up with the best ideas have been encouraged by Fadnavis to work for the initiative Maharashtra Vision 2025.
