New office-bearers of CII for 2017-18
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced new office-bearers for the year 2017-18. Shobana Kamineni, executive vice chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., (AHEL), has assumed office as the new president of CII. Kamineni helms the Apollo Global Projects Consultancy, which steers the planning, design and execution of new projects. She also heads Apollo Pharmacy, presently the fastest growing business within AHEL.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, vice chairman of Bharti Enterprises, is the new President designate, CII. Bharti Enterprises is one of India’s leading business groups with interests in telecom, agri and food business, financial services, retail, realty, and communication and media devices. Mittal is also chairman of Bharti AXA Life Insurance, Bharti AXA General Insurance, FieldFresh Foods and Centum Learning. Mittal is also a member of India – Canada CEOs Forum and India Pakistan Joint Business Forum (IPJBF) and several Government Committees and Governing Councils of Institutions of Excellence like ICAR.
Uday Kotak, executive vice chairman and managing director of Kotak Mahindra Bank is the new vice president of CII. Kotak has several awards to his credit and recently he won ET’s Business Leader of the Year award. Kotak is the co-chair of the India-UK Financial Partnership (IUKFP) with Sir Gerry Grimstone as the other Co-Chair.
