State to stop work on Godse memorial

The Maharashtra government on Sunday informed the Legislative Council that it will initiate steps will be taken to stop the construction of memorial of Nathuram Godse coming up in adjoining Kalyan's Saparde village will be stopped.

Congress MLC Sanjay Dutt raised the issue and demanded to stop construction of Godse's memorial.

Dutt said that after coming to power promising 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas', the mask of the ruling regime was being replaced with their true face coming forth, which proved that for them it was actually ' Munn pe Ram, Dil mein Nathuram'.

Nathuram's memorial coming up in Kalyan is a blot on Maharashtra and sends a very wrong message across India and even internationally. Hence the government should immediately intervene to stop it and also take strict action against those initiating so, as also against those government authorities who have failed to take prompt action in the matter.
