Four killed in road accident in Nashik

Four persons including a woman and a girl from Rajasthan were killed when their vehicle skidded off the road and hit a roadside tree on NashikDind­ori Road in Nashik City on Friday morning, police said.

Police said that the vehicle was coming towards Nashik when the driver possibly lost control and hit a road side tree near Meta Force Company at 6.30 am.

Ramavatar Surajsingh Kumawat (52), his daughter Gudiya Ramawatar Kumawat (15), Manohar Durgaram Jangir (57) his wife Santoshide­vi Manohar Jangir (52) were killed on the spot while Santoshi Ramavatar Kumawat (51) got injured.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem and will be handed over to their relatives after the completion of the legal procedures. Cases have been registered in Mhasrul police station in Nashik City and further investigat­ions are on, police said.

The injured Santoshi Ramavatar Kumawat has been admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital, where her condition was stated to be serious.

As roads have widened, the trees, which were far off, are now come very close to the road causing accidents.

In a similar accident, 2 months back, three persons including a girl were killed in Brahmangao­n village on SatanaMale­gaon Road in Satana tehsil of Nashik when their swift car dashed against a roadside tree.
