Irate parents agitate against Thane school

The tussle between disgruntle­d parents and school management reached to its peak on Monday in a Thane school and resulted in protest of parents in the school premises. Parents have complained that the management has turned all deaf ears to their pleas.

Shree Mavli Mandal High School (English medium) is one of the oldest school in Thane city. Parents have been voicing their opinions since many years regarding school fees, school uniforms and other issues. According to parents, the response of management towards all these issues was always been intolerant.

On Monday, all the parents came together and agitated against the management. The parents complained that the school uniforms are of the worst quality and had to pay the double price. Management had agreed to give the cotton uniform and they provided some low quality material The school uniforms were changed four times in ten years, said the parents. The second issue is about the fee hike where parents complain that the children and parents are always been put under pressure to pay the hiked fees.

"The school management hiked the fees every two to three years, but the quality of education has not been the same as it was previously. The facilities provided to the students are not up to the mark and also there are no other activities for children," complained Mayura Pansare, a parent.

The school was once considered as a best school in city. Now the scenario has changed, complained the parents. "Previously there were good teachers, now the quality education is not provided. Only change has been in the uniforms for four times in last ten years," said, Meenakshi Rane whose daughter studying in the school.

The management on the other hand refuted to comment on the issue. The media people were drawn away from the premises.

The parents have decided to write their complaints to guardian minister and education minister.
