ITC's Savlon wins big at Cannes 2017
Savlon’s innovative Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks initiative has bagged 7 Lions at the coveted Cannes Lions 2017. Considered to be the highest global accolade that recognises creative excellence in advertising and communications, Savlon won the prestigious awards for its unique and innovative ‘Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks initiative’. It is an integral part of the Savlon Swasth India Mission, a programme designed to encourage behavioural change towards washing hands amongst children and adults through various engaging and entertaining educational initiatives in schools. In line with its proposition of ‘Healthier Kids, Stronger India’, the initiative introduces interactive activities including a series of storytelling and visual engagement to help children adopt good hand hygiene practices. Savlon Swasth India Mission has already reached out to about 1 million children in over 2000 schools in India.
OBC’s annual general meeting held
The 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Oriental Bank of Commerce was held recently at New Delhi. Animesh Chauhan, MD and CEO of the Bank addressed the shareholders. The meeting was attended by Mala Srivastava and Sanjay Kapoor directors of the Bank, Raj Kiran Rai G and Himanshu Joshi, executive directors, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Dinesh Kumar Agrawal, directors of the bank.
Construction Times Builders Award 2017 award conferred
Reshma Dudani, chief general manager (REM&D), NBCC (India) has been conferred Construction Times Builders Award 2017 under construction Woman of the Year (individual category) in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of the construction industry as a whole and in real estate. The award was given away by Rahul Shewale, member of Parliament, Government of India; Vijay Shivtare, minister of state for water resource and water conservation, Government of Maharashtra.
‘The Great Indian Philanthropists’ unveiled by Governor
The Governor of Maharashtra Vidyasagar Rao released the CSR Coffee Table Book ‘The Great Indian Philanthropists’ (Desh ke Mahaan Daanveer) in event held in TAJ President, Mumbai. Bank of Baroda holds 21st Annual General Meeting
The 21st Annual General Meeting of the shareholders of Bank of Baroda was held recently at Sayajirao Nagargriha, Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan, Old Padra Road, Akota, Vadodara, at the place of Head Office of the Bank. The meeting was chaired by Ravi Venkatesan, non-executive chairman of the Bank. P S Jayakumar, MD and CEO of the Bank; Mayank K Mehta; Ashok Kumar Garg and Papia Sengupta, executive directors of the Bank also participated.
National workshop on succession planning
The two-day 16th National Workshop on ‘succession planning for board level positions’ was inaugurated by K V Chowdary, central vigilance commissioner organised by Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE). Ved Prakash, chairman, SCOPE and CMD, MMTC; U D Choubey, director general, SCOPE and Saptarshi Roy, director (HR), NTPC also addressed the participants. Chowdary in his inaugural address said public sector enterprises are symbolised as model employers. He advised the senior executives to prepare themselves for multiple skills and have thorough knowledge of various disciplines, laws, regulations pertaining to the organisation. He also advised to ingrain the ethical values and practices that have been built over a period of time in the organisation.
TISS makes 240 more graduates employable in Maharashtra
The National University Students’ Skill Development (NUSSD) Programme, an initiative by Tata institute of Social Sciences supported in Maharashtra by JP Morgan Chase, successfully completes skills training for 240 students of the Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College, Ghatkopar West. RJ College enables a large number of students coming from under-privileged and socio-economically backward sections of society to avail of good quality higher education. TISS and RJ College entered into an MOU to implement this programme in the college in 2015.
World Blood Donor Day by CARF
On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, CARF organised Blood Donation Camp at Vruks Vatika, Nair Hospital recently in association with Pragati Pratishtan. Chairman, Shamshi Mulla and CEO Savita Nathani actively participated during the camp meeting the donors and complimenting them for their good work. The Corporator of Ward 207 Surekha Lokhande and BJP leader Rohidas Lokhande and Ramesh N Bharmal Dean along with Pankaja Agal Asst. Dean of Nair Hospital graced the occasion.
The Arangetram of Noopur Dance Academy
The Arangetram of Noopur Dance Academy was organised at Prabodhankar Thakrey Auditorium, Borivali with the guidance of Madam Kalpana Meghnani and Madam Sandhya Samvedi in the proud presence of Guru Rajendra Naidu. All the five disciples Aditi, Chitra, Meghana, Moksha and Samruddhi were awarded with the trophies in the hands of Padmashree Madam Darshanaben Jhaveri. Approximately, 700 audiences including grandparents and relatives of disciples had enjoyed the graceful and entertaining occasion.
