To remember the Bee jam ant ra, use them ne mo ni cL V RY HO. To do the chakra dhyana, sit in a comfortable position on a chair or the ground, in padmasana —lotus pose or sukhasana where you sit crosslegged, with your spine erect to facilitate the movement of the kundalini

shakti. Ideally, meditation for each chakra should be done seven to ten times. But if you don’t have the time, you can even meditate on one chakra every day.

You can do this meditation anytime. But avoid doing it immediately after lunch or dinner. On a full stomach, a feeling of heaviness is common, and also if you burp, you will find it difficult to concentrate. A slightly empty stomach can help the process.

Any meditation should ideally be done in the morning as both your thoughts and the atmosphere is cleaner at this hour, and so is the mind. However, this does not imply that meditating later in the day will give less positive results; the results are independent of the timing.

Also, it is not mandatory that you bathe before meditating. You need not follow any calendar, such as the full moon or new moon. Women can do it even when they are menstruating, because this sadhana is not religious, but spiritual. It requires no preparations, no warm-up.

But you do need to centre yourself before you start this meditation, same as you would do in any other meditation. A distracted mind will not serve any purpose. So centre your attention inwards, collect yourself and have a blissful experience.

Remember... Shiva and Shakti are settled in the higher chakras. To attract higher thoughts and people, it thus becomes important to activate the higher chakras more frequently.

But first, you must activate the muladhara chakra. Without it, you will not be able to handle the opening of any other chakra. When you step on the spiritual path, the mind usually creates havoc to test you. But you will have to learn to overcome these hurdles. For instance, you might find yourself too busy and not find any time for the dhyana.

You may just keep procrastinating for the mind refuses to let go. You then have to be strong and ask your mind to calm down. Talk to your mind; firmly explain how you will not let it stop you in your spiritual path. Practices like the chakra meditation can slowly deprive the mind of thoughts, which is what it feeds on.

So, remember, when you’re performing a sadhana, your mind will try to distract you with thoughts. But do not try to stop these thoughts. The higher you go spiritually, the more havoc your mind will try to create. Just be aware of your thoughts and let them flow. The chakra dhyana yields mighty results if done on a regular basis.
