Rithvik back in his comfort zone
Actor Rithvik Dhanjani has been a popular television personality since he starred in Pavitra Rishta. While his co-star from the serial Sushant Singh Rajput has made his name in Bollywood, Rithvik continued his association with TV and became a household name by hosting and participating in various reality shows. We caught up with the actor for a quick rapid fire as he gears up for a new reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8 hosted by Rohit Shetty.
How has the experience of Khatron Ke Khiladi been till now? It’s a fabulous experience! I’m loving every moment! Who have you bonded most on the show with? Ravi, Wahi and I are already great friends. But I have been spending a lot of time with all the other contestants including Shantanu, Geeta and I am glad we have such a good group of contestants this season. Who is the biggest competition on the show for you right now? Me, myself as I am battling my own fears and stretching my own limits. You have become synonymous with reality shows, do you like performing task so much? Reality is my happy space. It’s spontaneous and gives me the opportunity to experiment. What do you want to say to people who think that reality shows are scripted? There has to be a format and a way to do a show but otherwise what you see is not scripted, which is why I love the genre! What do you like more being a contestant or a host? Both - as an anchor I get to connect with the contestants and the judges and enjoy the show in a different manner. As a contestant I get to once again have my heart skip a beat as I challenge myself to do things I had never imagined I could do. What is making you stay away from fictional TV show? The gap has been because I haven’t gotten any different script and hence I have been doing more of nonfiction. For me being a part of a project with the right script, role and production house is extremely important. Fiction unless finite is a long term commitment and I only want to get into it when I am convinced about every aspect of the project.
