Tejashwi cries ‘conspiracy’, says Grand Alliance will stay

- CHHAYA MISHRA

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s son Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday claimed that Modi-Shah and media were conspiring to break the grand alliance in Bihar. Tejashwi, who has been in an eye of storm after being named in a CBI FIR for his alleged involvement in a corruption case, said that the corruption charges against him and his family was a part of political vendetta created by BJP.

The statements of Tejashwi, which bordered on political rhetoric, devoid of any proofs and were similar to what his father has been claiming, are unlikely to ‘placate’ the JDU and its party president Nitish Kumar who are likely to take a call on his continuance in the cabinet by the end of this week.

“I can only say this is a political vendetta by the BJP. The main leaders attached to it are Amit Shah and Narendra Modi. They have always been scared of my father, but it seems that now they are scared of me too. Right from the beginning, they are trying to break the ‘mahagathbandhan’, and accuse us in all possible ways. Not just us, they are always ready to malign Bihar for all possible crime. Some media organizations too want the grand alliance to break,” a belligerent Tejashwi, said, while emerging out of first cabinet meeting after the CBI raids, that was conducted by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The statement of Tejashwi came less than 12 hours after a JDU meeting in which the party leaders led by Nitish decided to take a call on Tejashwi in the cabinet meeting after 4 days.
