This Class 12 boy lost his family within space of a few minutes
Vardhan Deora, a class XII boy, who was happily living with his parents, has lost everything in the collapse of the Siddhi Sai building in Ghatkopar on July 25 which killed 17 people and leaving many more injured.
It was a routine day for Deora family, their son Vardhan left for home early for his college but the day turned out to be a black day of his life. He lost his mother Heena Deora and father Vijay Deora and grandmother Subhadra Deora in the tragic event.
Rajesh Deora, uncle of Vardhan, while speaking to the Free Press Journal stated that they where living in a joint family of seven members at the third floor of Siddhi Sai building. Along with him his two sisters Sadhna and Julie escaped as they were out when the incident took place. He said, "My brother and bhabi and my mother was at home and they were killed. Myself and my two sisters and my brother's son were survived. Our son (Vardhan) is under depression as he lost his parents."
"Shitap should be punished, like Vardhan there are other families who lost their members just because of his illegal renovation work. He is having a strong nexus with other party members and BMC officials and so this accident took place," he further alleged.
"We are homeless and have taken temporary shelter at our relative's house. Apart from Vardhan, I have to take care of my sisters also, I am clueless and thinking how I will manage everything all alone," worried Vardhan's uncle remarked.
The Shah family is also under shock and depression as they lost their teenage daughter Rutvi Shah in the mishap. But luckily, thier two other children escaped as they were attending their regular school.
The Sheth Virchand Dhanji Devshi English Medium School of Ghatkopar East where the two children are studying has extended full support to Shah family. Tiny Fernandez, principal of the school stated that the school teachers visited the family members and the two children have resumed from Thursday onwards.
