Pilgrim dies en route Vaishno Devi shrine

JAMMU: A 55-year-old pilgrim on Wednesday died on his way to the cave shrine of Vaishno Devi in Trikuta hills of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. Anil Aggrawal fell unconsciou­s on the stairs en route the cave shrine at Adhkwari area and was immediatel­y taken to a dispensary where doctors declared him brought dead, a senior police officer said. The body is being handed over to family after postmortem, the officer said.

Kerala to probe suicides of tribals

THIRUVANAN­THAPURAM: The Kerala government on Wednesday said it has taken a serious view of suicides of 45 tribals at nearby Palode area since 2012 and that the reasons behind the deaths would be probed.
