Pilgrim dies en route Vaishno Devi shrine
JAMMU: A 55-year-old pilgrim on Wednesday died on his way to the cave shrine of Vaishno Devi in Trikuta hills of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. Anil Aggrawal fell unconscious on the stairs en route the cave shrine at Adhkwari area and was immediately taken to a dispensary where doctors declared him brought dead, a senior police officer said. The body is being handed over to family after postmortem, the officer said.
Kerala to probe suicides of tribals
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government on Wednesday said it has taken a serious view of suicides of 45 tribals at nearby Palode area since 2012 and that the reasons behind the deaths would be probed. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated this in the assembly in reply to a query during the Question Hour.
