MUMBAI: Dr.Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation and Maratha Mandal are pleased to announce that for promotion of chess at School level itself, 20th Susheela Vaze Memorial Rotating Interschoo­l team-chess trophy, has been organised. The tourney aims to encourage school as well as students by giving separate Awards to each of them under the auspices of The Mumbai Suburban District Chess Associatio­n and will be held at, Mulund on Sunday, 20th of August. The venue is: Mulund Maratha Mandal Hall, 90 Feet Road, Near Kelkar College, Mulund (East). A team will be of 4 Players either boys or girls or mixed bag. MUMBAI: Mukta Dalvi dropped a game before she ousted Sana D’Souza 11-9, 8-11, 11-7, 11-3 to storm into cadet girls singles semifinals of the JVPGC-All-Mumbai 4-star ranking table tennis tournament, hosted by Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana here today. Others to join Mukta in last four were top-seeded Ananya Chande, who beat Mrunal Kurade11-6, 11-9, 11-8; Hardee Patel, a 11-2,11-8, 11-8 winner over Shravani Loke and second seeded Pearl Amalsadwal­a, who defeated Keisha Jhavery 11-8, 15-13 11-5. Top-seeded Mihika Rohira was in devastatin­g form as she made short work of Nimisha Warang 11-3, 11-5, 11-8 to breeze into the sub-junior girls singles semifinals. Likewise Vidhi A. Shah, the second seed, scored a fine 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 win over Ananya Chande to join Mihika in the last four. NAGPUR: Bengaluru Bulls defeated beat Bengal Warriors 31-25 in a pulsating encounter of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 5. It was Ajay Kumar and Rohit Kumar, who scored nine and six points respective­ly to lead the Bulls to a superb victory. For Bengal Warriors, Jang Kun Lee scored eight points but wasn't enough as they crashed to their first defeat of the season. In Zone B, Bengaluru Bulls now top the table with 19 points after playing six matches while Bengal Warriors are fourth with 11 points after three matches. Rohit Kumar opened Bengaluru Bulls' account with a raid in the first minute. Bengal Warriors had to wait till the third minute to get going as Maninder Singh scored with a raid. Bengaluru Bulls led 5-2 in the fourth minute as they sent Maninder to the bench.
