Help desk bungles

- STAFF REPORTER

MU’s Help Desk has bungled while trying to process results of students who are opting for higher studies in foreign universities. Problems like misplaced documents, delay or getting no information on status of results and lack of staff have cropped up.

Many students with different problems throng the Help Desk at the varsity’s Kalina campus every day. Some students want a statement of marks or CGPA, others seek a letter while many want an actual marksheet within a deadline. The desk lacking in coordination is increasing the problems of students.

Students complained as they have to visit the desk again and again. The officers are cooperative but the process is tedious. A student said, “I have applied at the De Montfort University in UK but all my documents at lost at the desk. I have resubmitted all documents but I have to go the centre every day to check the status of my result.”

Some want an actual marksheet as their submission deadline is approaching and they had paid part of their fees. A student said, “I need an actual marksheet as the foreign university is accepting neither the confidential statement of marks nor the confidential scorecard.”

Of 71 cases registered on Thursday, over 60 students got confidential mark statements and some received confidential scorecard.
