CR to run 210 special trains for Ganpati

The Central Railways has planned to run additional eight special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Ganpati festival. It had already announced 202 special trains for convenienc­e of passengers.

The ticket booking for these trains began from Sunday onwards. At least four special trains will run between Mumbai to Chiplun and return.

The train would leave Chhatrapat­i Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 12: 45 am on Monday and August 25. It will arrive at Chiplun at 8.10pm on the same day.

The second special train will leave Chiplun at 5:45 pm on Monday and August 25 and arrive CSMT at 11:40 on the same day.

This train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Kolad, Indapur Road, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Sape Wamne, Karanjadi, Vinhere, Diwankhava­ti, Khed and Anjani stations.

The other set of special trains consists of six second class coaches and six general second class coaches. Two sets of special trains will run between Pune to Sawantwadi Road and return. This train would leave Pune at 6:45 pm on Tuesday and arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 8am.

The second special train would leave Sawantwadi Road at 2:05pm on Wednesday and arrive at Pune at 3:55pm the next day.

This train halts at Lonavala, Kalyan, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Aravali Road, Sangameshw­ar Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal and Zarap stations among others.
