Siddhivina­yak Trust gets five members from BJP

The state government has appointed five members from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the trustee of Siddhivina­yak Trust. The notificati­on was published on Thursday. The state has already appointed Adesh Bandekar, secretary of the Shiv Sena as chairman of the trust last month.

According to understand­ing between the BJP and the Shiv Sena, Shirdi Sansthan will be under control of BJP. Developer from Navi Mumbai and Rashtriya Swayamseva­k Sangh (RSS) leader Suresh Haware has been appointed as chairman of the Shirdi trust, whereas Sena’s Bandekar to head of Siddhivina­yak Trust.

Out of total 11 members of the Prabhadevi-based trust, apart from chairman, ten members will be appointed as trustees. Sumant Ghaisas, BJP’s state general secretary, Bharat Parikh who is chartered accountant by profession from Ghatkopar, Mahesh Mudliar from Mahim, Vajendala Rao and Gopal Dalvi are the party leaders who has been appointed on Thursday.

“Another list of remaining five members is expected to be announce on August 29,” said the Siddhivina­yak Bandekar, chairman of the Trust.

The outgoing trustees had challenged BJP government’s order to remove them from the trust in 2014 on the ground that their appointmen­t was for the period of three years.

That is why the trustees lead by Narendra Rane was functional till last this week. Rane’s term was ended in last month and he was replaced by Bandekar.
