Two men assaulted over business rivalry
Two men have been booked for assaulting two persons at Shivaji Nagar at Govandi on Sunday night.
The incident took place on Sunday night at 10:40 pm. Sarfaraz Tufail Ahmed Shaikh (31) and his brother Salman Tufail Shaikh (30) were assaulted by the accused Mohammed Shaikh (35) and his friend Salim Khan (37) at Baiganwadi at Govandi. The incident occurred at the residence of Salman on plot number 40 at Baiganwadi.
The accused and the victim had an enmity with each other over business rivalry. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Shivaji Nagar police station on Monday.
On Sunday, Salman had barged into a leather workshop of the accused at Govandi. Taking revenge, the accused Mohammed and Salim hit the victims Salman and his brother Sarfaraz with an iron rod on their limbs. Later, Salman’s brother Sarfaraz approached the police to register a First Information Report (FIR).
According to Deepak Pagare, senior police inspector, Shivaji Nagar police, “The accused wanted to take revenge. So they assaulted the Shaikh brothers with an iron rod. The victims and the accused had an enmity with each other due to business rivalry.”
The accused have been booked for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means (Section 324 and 326), house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint (Section 452), criminal intimidation (Section 506) and common intention (Section 34) of the Indian Penal Code.
