WHAT: ‘Diverse Expression­s’, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Padmanabh Bendre, Devyani Parikh, Poonam Agarwal and Sumana Nath De. Padmanabh Bendre acquired his masters in architectu­re and town planning. He has learnt life drawing and monoprint from Phoenix Arizona USA, being a self-taught artist. Bendre’s paintings are inspired by his past profession as an architect. Mumbai-based senior artist Devyani Parikh is self-taught. Her associatio­n with art goes back more than six decades, when day to day items like sand, earthen pots, used music records, dried leaves, wood shavings etc. gave expression to her innate imaginatio­n. Devyani has held 13 solo and 48 group exhibition­s across the globe. Poonam Agarwal is a self-taught artist based in Mumbai and she has been paintings profession­ally since 2009. Prior to beginning her work with paint, Poonam displayed a passion and innate talent for the arts by designing and making paper crafts and then designing jewellery. Sumana Nath De, was born in Pune. Her inspiratio­n and passion for art comes from her father and guru late Sachin Nath. Her forte is in painting, but in this exhibition, you will see new kind of works that she has created with wood.
