Radhe Maa suffers setback in domestic violence case
The Borivali Metropolitan Magistrate court rejected self-styled god woman Radhe Maa’s application on Friday. Court stated, as per the allegations made by the applicant Niki Gupta, Radhe Maa alias Sukhvinder Kaur assaulted her and abused her in filthy language. Kaur had moved an application requesting that her name should be dropped from the domestic violence case registered against her.
In July 2015, the applicant had approached the police alleging that her husband and his parents, who were disciples of Kaur, had been harassing her for dowry. She had alleged that they were harassing her at Kaur’s behest.
Following this, the Kandivali police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband Nikul Daulat Gupta, father-in-law Dolat Kukmar Gupta, mother-in-law Latesh Golat Gupta, brotherin-law Sandeep Dolat Gupta, sister-in-law Jyoti Sandeep Gupta and uncle-in-law Jagmohan Gupta and Kaur.
An application was filed by Niki Nakul Gupta against Kaur under Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. Later, Kaur had moved an application stating that she had been wrongly impleaded as a respondent party by the applicant. Kaur had alleged in the application that the applicant had deliberately and mischievously made her as a respondent party so as to harass her.
The court observed that there are specific allegations against Kaur and therefore it could not be said that Kaur had no concern with the other respondents.
The court further observed that even though Kaur was residing separately from the other respondents, she was directly connected with the incident of domestic violence and as per the allegations made by the applicant, Kaur assaulted her and abused her in filthy language. The court therefore stated that it had rejected Kaur’s application.
